Central Data Office (CEDO)

The Central Data Office (CEDO) is made of cross-functional group of Business Lines’ representatives tasked with agreeing data quality guidelines, standards, and priorities.

The mission of CEDO includes:

  • Strategic Oversight: Provide high-level oversight and strategic direction for data governance initiatives, ensuring they align with the enterprise’s overall business strategy and objectives.

  • Risk Management: Oversee the identification, evaluation, and mitigation of risks related to data management, including compliance with international data protection regulations (such as GDPR) and other legal requirements.

  • Policy Development: Develop and approve major data governance policies and frameworks that define how data is managed, used, and protected across the organization.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders across the organization to gather insights and feedback on data governance practices, promoting an inclusive approach to data management.

  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor the effectiveness of data governance initiatives through key performance indicators and metrics, ensuring continuous improvement in data practices.

  • Communication: Act as the main communication channel between the data governance teams and the executive management, ensuring clear and consistent messaging about the value and progress of data initiatives.

  • Technology and Innovation: Guide the adoption of new technologies and innovative practices that can enhance data governance, such as advanced data analytics tools and machine learning techniques.

  • Crisis Management: Lead the response to data-related crises, such as data breaches or significant compliance failures, ensuring swift and effective action to minimize impact.

  • Education: Promote the importance of data governance within and outside the organization, and spearhead educational initiatives to enhance data literacy among executives and other stakeholders.
