Progress monitoring

As the enterprise deploys Data Quality prioritization practices across teams, understanding the level of adoption of proposed standards, methodology and tools is an important success factor to drive improvements.

It helps measure progress, identify key challenges and implement relevant actions to continue improvements.

The following standardized assessment template is proposed to conduct the evaluation on the state of data quality prioritization practices at a regular cadence.

Prioritization Practices Assessment template

The following three aspects are considered when evaluating the progress made by BDOs on Data Quality prioritization:

  • Prioritization Standards Adoption: refers to the BDOs progress in reviewing the proposed standards, proposing potential amendments that are specific to their context and validating the standards for their use.

  • Data Inventory: evaluates the progress made by BDOs in cataloging Datasets under Data Domains within their Business Areas. This is a prerequisite to prioritization and provides a centralized reference for all teams to work together.

  • Priority Assignment: identifies the ratio of Datasets that have been assigned a priority as a result of the work done within this stream. It indicates the progress made in putting in practice guidelines and standards proposed by the Data Quality Framework.
